This week a poster campaign has been launched to make those who buy sex to stop and think about paying for sex with trafficked women.
The UK Home Office Minister Vernon Coaker said: “These women are being treated as commodities and are sold, controlled and exploited by others for a profit. This is totally unacceptable. Trafficking is a vile and evil trade and sex buyers must be made to think twice about the consequences of their actions.”
The poster also appeals to men that if they meet a woman they believe may have been trafficked to report it: “If you’re man enough, call Crimestoppers.”
STOP THE TRAFFIK had a meeting on Tuesday at the EU parliament to work with them to get a similar campaign across Europe.
